Frequently Asked Questions
- Do I have to put in my credit card information?
Yes. In order to purchase boxes, get your boxes picked up at home or request a work order, your credit card information must be on file. If you do have your information on file but are unable to process your order, please make sure you have the box checked for "I authorize..." and select "yes," for the terms and agreements.
- The box orders contain too many boxes; do I have to get a box kit?
You are not required to purchase a box kit. However, keep in mind that you DO NOT have to ship all the boxes in the box kit. They may be saved and reused. You may also use your own boxes, but keep in mind shipping boxes are of greater strength than normal moving boxes!
- Is it really only $69.95 for the shipping and the box kit?
NO. The $69.95 is the price of the box kit and the shipping of the box kit. You will be charged at UPS rates for the shipping of EACH box. A credit card is left on file with us. It will be charged ONCE for the box kit and a SECOND time for the shipping of the boxes.
- How long will it take my box kit to arrive?
Box kits generally take two to four business to arrive.
- I packed all my boxes and they are ready for pick up, now what?
Great job! You have one of two options at this point:
1. Boxes picked up at home
Log on to the Home to Home website and verify your school address. Now, click the link for "Request home pick up" to notify The UPS Store ASU. A representative will you call from the store to schedule your pick up through UPS.
OR
2. Boxes dropped off at a local The UPS Store
Log on to the Home to Home website and print a copy of your work order. Bring the work order number and the packed boxes to your local The UPS Store and they will help ship your packages off to ASU.
- I lost my work order, how do I get another?
Log into your account on the Home to Home website. Under "My Orders" there will be a copy, go ahead and print a duplicate.
- I am in the process of changing my room assignment, what should I do if that changes?
Log in to your account on the Home to Home website. If your address changes before shipping, make sure to update that in your account. If you have already shipped your boxes, contact The UPS Store directly (480-894-8838 x104) to verify that changes have been noted. If your name is on the box, we will invariably be able to deliver to your room, even if your room assignment has changed.
- I am a slow packer; can I ship my boxes at different times?
Yes. Multiple requests can be made for pick up through the 'Request a Pick Up," tab.
OR
You can log on the Home to Home website to request an additional work order. Each work order can only be used once.
- Are there any cases in which my boxes would NOT be delivered to my room?
Access to student rooms is limited after students begin to check in. If a roommate checks in early, The UPS Store may be denied access to the room. If arrangements can be made with hall staff, the packages will still be delivered; otherwise packages can be picked up at The UPS Store. Most cases can be resolved and worked out between the student and The UPS Store. Be aware that deliveries to Residence Halls during the week of move in will be LIMITED.
- How soon should I have my boxes at ASU to make sure they are delivered to my room?
All of your packages should be delivered to the UPS Store the week of August 1st and no later than Friday, August 5th.
- I live at ASU Polytechnic Campus, is Home to Home available to me?
The summer of 2011 will be the first summer we offer the Home to Home program at the ASU Poly campus. The program is for students living in one of the following residence halls: Bell, Eagle, Falcon, Mustang, Palo Blanco, Phantom, Talon. The program has limited availability for students living in shared housing or family housing. If you do live in shared housing or family housing, you may still use the Home to Home program; however we will be unable to have your packages awaiting your arrival in the house. You will have to pick up your boxes at The UPS Store @ Poly (7213 E Thistle, Mesa, AZ 85212).
- I am so confused, is there someone that can help me with this?
Of course! Feel free to call The UPS Store directly @ 480-894-8838x104. Our summer business hours are Monday-Friday 9am to 5pm and Saturdays 10am to 2pm. One of our associates would be happy to answer any questions you may have.
